Parent Reps
We are always looking at improving communication between home and school and one of the most successful ways we do this is through our class representatives. Every class in the school has a parent volunteer who comes along to the half termly meetings to discuss issues other parents raise. We discuss a wide range of topics ranging from school meals to after school clubs - whatever your concern, we want to hear from you. You can of course arrange a meeting to speak to Mrs Davies if you have a more specific/individual concern/question.
Role of a Parent Rep
- Represent a class within the school
- Meet every half term to discuss ideas with Head Teacher
- A friendly face on the playground
- Someone who communicates with parents within a particular year group and takes ideas and suggestions to half termly meetings
- Someone who encourage parents to participate in fundraising events organised by Friends
- Organise parents to help on school visits, swimming
- Remind parents of events taking place in school
- Share information with parents in their class via leaflets etc.
- On occasions organise specific fundraisers for their class e.g. cake sales
- Be a parents’ contact point
- Present suggestions made from other parents at meetings
- Contact any new parent joining the school if their child is in nominated class to welcome them and share information about future events
If you would like to contact your parent rep, their contact details are available at the school office. If you would like to be included in any e mails they send – you can give your e mail to the school office and your parent rep will contact you.
We have half termly meetings where we discuss any issues parents wish to raise. The outcomes of the meetings are shared in our newsletters and on our parent feedback page.
