ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
St Wilfrid’s CE Primary School is a Church of England Aided school which was originally opened in 1846. Since then it has been extended many times and can now accommodate 420 pupils from the ages of 4-11. We are a two form entry school with an annual admission limit of 60 children.
The school has separate Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 buildings. The Key Stage 1 building has an additional hall, playgrounds and indoor activity areas.
We also have a library and a resource room to work with groups of children.
The school is in a beautiful, quiet position with many wooded areas, overlooking the canal and has extensive playing fields. We have our own eco garden, forest school, timber trail, all weather football pitch and quiet area for the children to enjoy at play times and lunch times.
Our doors open at 8:30 for a 10 minute entrance window and we finish at 3:00pm. We have a collective worship every day, a special part of the school day where we meet and have some quiet reflective time together. All children have a morning playtime and Key Stage 1 also have a break in the afternoon.
We run a wide range of extra curricular clubs, visit the clubs section of the website for more information.
