At St Wilfrid’s Church of England Primary School, our Christian vision is rooted in the belief that every child and adult is unique, valued and loved by God. We are committed to creating a happy, caring environment where everyone feels safe, respected and able to flourish, fulfilling their God-given potential.
Inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, we seek to nurture children who are tolerant, respectful, compassionate and resilient. Through our core values of wisdom, hope, community and dignity, we encourage every member of our school family to recognise their own gifts and talents, celebrate the achievements of others and use their abilities to make a positive difference in the world.
Our vision shapes the way we live, learn and serve together. We believe that every child can shine, and we work to ensure that all pupils are welcomed, accepted and supported to thrive, regardless of their background, ability or individual needs.
We provide a rich, diverse and inspiring curriculum with our locality as a starting point to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding children need to succeed. Alongside strong foundations in literacy and mathematics, we promote creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, independent learning and the resilience to face challenges. Our school grounds offer a wide range of opportunities for children to expand their learning beyond the classroom. Through Forest School, educational visits and residential experiences children are encouraged to explore, discover and grow in confidence.
Our Christian vision also calls us to look beyond ourselves and serve others. Through worship, our relationships with the local church and wider community, and our daily acts of kindness, we encourage children to understand that their light is not only for their own benefit but is also a gift to be shared. We want our pupils to leave St Wilfrid’s as happy, healthy and ambitious individuals who have the confidence, character and compassion to make a positive difference in their communities and the wider world.
