Our Pupil Voice
'It is a place where the pupil voice matters, is listened to and acted upon. Children respond well to the good opportunities they have to shape the life of their school.'

Elections
In November a shortlist of 12 children from Years 5 and 6 presented their campaign speeches for election to St Wilfrid’s Pupil Voice. We had a lot of high quality applications for the role which consists of discussing ways to improve the school, looking at pupil wellbeing and being excellent ambassadors for our school.
All children in KS2 then visited the Polling Station to cast their votes in the ballot boxes for who they thought should be elected. This is a great example of democracy and we were encouraging the children to think about the importance of this process as a life skill.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the election experience and the result was extremely close for the final spots in the group, once again we must say how well all the children presented their speeches during their campaign.
Congratulations to Orla, Ellie, Hayden, Clara, Jack and Harry for being elected, we know you will do a great job!
Have a look at some of our speeches here - maybe you will see us in the House of Commons one day!!
