World Book Day 2020

What an amazing response for our theme ‘Vocabulary Parade’. Thank you to everyone for putting in so much effort with the children’s costumes – they look brilliant! We had a parade around the golden mile and photographs have been tweeted. The children will spend the day doing various book related activities, including: writing two whole school stories! The two stories start in Reception and then will make their way up the school as each class adds the next paragraph. Then, Year 6 will bring them to a satisfying conclusion. We will be illustrating the story along the way and then sharing them in a whole school assembly at the end of the day – fingers crossed, if all goes to plan.

World Book Day was a huge success and as always everyone entered into the spirit and the costumes for the vocabulary parade were very imaginative!  The whole school stories are ready for you to enjoy (see Powerpoints below), your child will be able to tell you which part of the story their class created.  It is fascinating to see how different the two stories are so although the hook for writing was the same - the old keys generated two very different tales!  It would be great if you can read the stories with your child, the children are very proud of what they have achieved.
